Annual Awards Banquet
Each Spring the Department of Accounting and Information systems hosts its awards banquet. Several hundred students, alumni, faculty, parents, and friends attend the event that is presided over by the President of Virginia Tech's Gamma Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.
Sophomores and Juniors who wish to be considered for an award must complete a Rising Junior and Senior Awards form. Forms will be handed out in your accounting classes. Seniors entering the ACIS Master's Program must complete a Graduating Seniors Awards form. Forms will be emailed to you. Completed forms should be delivered to Pamplin 3007 during the month of February only. Please refer to the Awards form for the exact deadline. Award decisions will be announced at the awards banquet. All decisions are confidential until the awards ceremony.
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems hosted the 41st annual awards banquet in April 2007. Awards and scholarships were presented to 62 undergraduate students, 33 master's students, and 12 Ph.D. students. Many of the master's students were completing our undergraduate program and continuing their education in our master's program to meet the new 150 hour requirement.
