Student Organizations
The department encourages interaction with accounting and information systems professionals by sponsoring four student organizations:
- Accounting Society (affiliated with the Institute of Management Accountants ) is a professional and social organization that is intended to bring together students interested in accounting, their professors, and business professionals through various activities.
- Beta Alpha Psi is the national honorary and professional fraternity dedicated to the advancement of the accounting profession.
- Information Systems Society has a primary purpose of providing students with opportunities to interact with practicing professionals in the information systems field and gaining leadership skills by assuming leadership roles within the Society.
- National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) consists of African-American students majoring in accounting and finance. The chapter, which encourages self-improvement, academic achievement and a strong espirit de corps, provides numerous professional development and networking activities for its members.
These and other campus student groups offer opportunities to cultivate leadership skills and build a social and professional network.
