Ph.D. Student Residence
Candidates are strongly encouraged to complete the entire program in residence. This typically takes a total of four years with 2 ½ years of coursework and 1 ½ years doing concentrated dissertation/research work. The time limits described under the dissertation link apply whether or not the candidate is in residence.
