Biography
Dr. Velina Popova joined the Pamplin College of Business in the fall of 2008. Dr. Popova holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, a Masters Degree in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelors in Accounting and Control from University of Varna, Bulgaria.
Dr. Popova’s research interests include judgment and decision making of auditors. Her dissertation, co-chaired by Dr. Marlys Lipe and Dr. Kevan Jensen is “Integration of Fraud Risk in the Risk of Material Misstatement and the Effect on Auditors’ Planning Judgments.”
Before coming to Virginia Tech, Dr. Popova taught financial accounting, managerial accounting, and auditing at the University of Oklahoma.
