Ernest J. Pavlock Retires
Ernest J. Pavlock, Professor of Accounting and Information Systems, retired at the end of the Spring Semester 2000. Ernie joined our faculty in 1980 and was located in Blacksburg until 1986, when he moved to the Northern Virginia Graduate Center. As a member of our faculty he primarily taught MBA students at the graduate center.
Before joining our faculty, Ernie served as national Director of Education for Touche Ross for 14 years. While a faculty member, Ernie taught numerous professional education programs, especially dealing with health care. He published a book entitled Financial Management for Medical Groups that is now in its second edition. He published numerous articles concerning the accounting profession and recently has become very interested in the concept of accountability. Along with his students, he established The Accountability Network Newsletter, which is published twice a year. Ernie was also active in planning the Virginia Accounting and Auditing Conference.
Ernie and his wife Vivian reside in Reston, Virginia, where they are active in their community and church. They plan to remain in the area to remain close to their grandchildren. Ernie plans to continue publishing The Accountability Network Newsletter.
