Biography
Cintia Easterwood has been on the faculty in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Virginia Tech since August of 1992. She earned a Ph.D. in Accounting at The University of Houston in 1993. She received an M.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting and a B.B.A. with a major in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin in 1985 and 1982, respectively. Dr. Easterwood earned her C.P.A. certificate in Texas in 1988. She worked as an auditor in public accounting and as an internal auditor before pursuing her Ph.D.
Dr. Easterwood's primary research interests are in the area of earnings management and financial accounting. Currently, her primary focus is on teaching. She helps teach and coordinate Principles of Financial and Managerial Accounting. She has experience teaching a wide variety of courses including Intermediate Financial Accounting I, Intermediate Financial Accounting II, Personal Computers in Business, Accounting Systems and Controls, and Auditing Theory.
